battle of bunker hill
- After the Lexington and concord battle , The new England militia had surrounded Boston city , while Britain troops was staying inside
- The new england was led by colonel Prescott. Prescott was 49 , but he still strong and had lots of experiment from 2 battles with Britain before.
- on july 16, 1775, Prescott led 1200 soldiers to dig and built the fort in Breed hill . They worked hard through the night to prepare their position and waiting for the Britain
- next day , Britain noticed the fort and started to attacked the fort. The attack was led by general Howe and 2200 soldiers. Howe had a very complicated plane and it didn't work a lot
- Because of the lack of supplies and gun power, Prescott told his men " Don't fight until you see the white of the eyes" . But the Americans hide in their lethal barrage before the musket fire and throwing Britain to retreat
- The second time had the same result . Prescott's men now were low of armo, supplies so on the third attack , they were forced to retreat.
- In the end , the Britain was " win but not win " . They lost almost 226 soldiers, 828 were wound . American lost 141 soldiers, 271 were wound . After this battle, the British realized that the war with American would be hard, long and tough.

battle of trenton
- George Washington realized that without any decisive action or movement, the continental army were hard to stand up, there were in doomed and lost spirit. So he planned to attack the hessisan garrison in Trenton.
- The town of Trenton was defended by 1400 Hessian ( german mercenary soldiers) and led under commanded of colonel leadership Johann Rall . But most of them were exhausted and unprepared for any attack
- on december 26, 1776, Washington's army crossed the Deleware river and surprised the British. When he approached at the town, he divided his men to surround the town and put the cannon in the possition.
- When Rall reliazed the exist of American, it was too late. The cannon was fired , Rall and the hessians quickly to lose and surrounded.
- 150 hessians were killed or wounded, 900 were made of prisoner, 400 were escaped. It was wonderful victory for George Washington and American. Most importantly, it ends the thinking that the Britain would victories and American lose.

battle of princeton
- Angry about the defeated of the hessian in Trenton, on January 2, 1777, general Cornwallis led 8000 red coats ( uniform of the british army ) to deal with George Washington.
- predict that George Washington would escape, Cornwallis sent troops to guard at Delaware river and expecting Washington to cross.
- Washington left his campfire burning, covering the wagon , some people to digging and pretending they were in the camp.
- Washington and the continentals army headed north and met the British guard there. But with the outnumbered of soldiers, Washington easily to beat them.
- as the results, British forces lost 450 , while american lost only 37. More important , in january 4, the british had been forced out all southern of new jersey.
